Viewers' Revenge Season FInale: Will this be the last episode of Road Rules?

It's a very distinct possibility that this may be the series finale of Road Rules. Absent from our television screens for three years, the series was shelved because of unfavorable ratings and a re-tooling. Unfortunately, for MTV, that re-tooling couldn't have gone any more wrong.

The concept, bringing the home viewer into the mix, blew up in MTV's face. When viewers could no longer vote for which person in the RV would ultimately be selected in the Pit, many feel like the show jumped the shark.

Sixteen long weeks later, the show cut short because of bad ratings, the six Roadies, their Pit Crew counterparts, and host Drew Bell will bid adieu to this season of Road Rules. In what seems like a last minute attempt to scrape the ratings from the floor, producers have promised a shocking twist.

Will it be enough to save the series? No word from MTV or BMP if the series will be picked up for a fifteenth season. BMP put out a casting call for Road Rules 15 earlier this year and sometimes claim to be casting for that series alongside Real World 20. If BMP and MTV decides to renew Road Rules... they should ditch the "viewers concept", ditch the real-time nature of the show, kick off no one except the cheesy challenges and product placements, and get back to what the show used to be before radical changes occurred in Season 8/9 of the series. Go back to having six kids living in a RV, traveling around the world, doing things they wouldn't normally do without being on the show. Go back to classic Road Rules.

Post your reaction to tonight's episode in this post or discuss the future of Road Rules.

I totally agree that they need to go back to the basic Road Rules. Get rid of the whole "typical" reallity game show of voting people off and just stick with the same six people the whole show so they can all grow together. Toss the whole "Lose Two vote out One". I love road rules, and I continued to watch it even though it wasn't that exciting and action packed this season. I want one more try.

Bring back classic Road Rules!

100% agree. Since Real World 20 seems to be resetting back to the original concept of strangers living in a house pursuing their dreams, they should reboot Road Rules and bring back the original concept, before any voting went on. If we want voting and backstabbing, we'll watch the Challenges. RRVR was like the retarded half-cousin of the Challenges.

I totally agree with what anonymous 9:12 said. I had a feeling even before the show aired that it wasn't going to do well.

i miss the original road rules... i would have loved this season if they just put the six alumni on the RV, with none of this voting off or Pit Crew bullshit

If seen the finale - the ending - especially the last shot is so cheesy. The challenge is actually cool that the gang does (involving a freight truck going over 30 miles an hour and the roadies vs. pit crew walking on top of it with boxes) and its the development of the "major rules violation" as well as the outcome of that challenge, is quite shocking. There is also ANOTHER pit at the end of the episode, before the gang gets their handsome reward (aka lame mazda 3) cars. And ONE of the pit crew members steals the reward from someone who is far more deserving, and ends up winning more money than all the Roadies in general.

If Real World going back to their roots, so should Road Rules. Give Road Rules one more season.

Anonymous said...

Wait, which Pit Crew member gets the reward? And which Road Ruler gets less?

Anonymous said...

If 11:12 is right, then I think that maybe Derek or David would have their prize stolen since the kind of deserved it more than Adam, Kina, Tori, and Susie. I mean, I guess if it were true...

btw, anonymous 11:21, how did you find this out? And who are the pit crew members this time? Am I right or wrong on who steals the prize?

Is it really true as well?

Anyway, this season should've been like six of the pit crew people should've been the roadies as opposed to the alumni.

Anonymous said...

Yup, David is the one ends up losing his handsome reward.

Anonymous said...

Ahhahaha I hate David so I'm happy about that.

Anonymous said...

i am not sure where 1:48 is getting this info cause it is a load of crap.

One person got ejected for the "rules" violation.

Here here to going back to the classic Road Rules. Maximum Velocity Tour was cool, but cheesy with the Road Master. Lets go back to the days of Northern Trail and Austrailia and Latin America. Those were the greats..

Ok, let's vote...who wants a road rules 15 ! BUT BACK TO THE ORIGNAL CONCEPT ! The concept couldnt have sucked that much i mean it got them 13 seasons so they had to have done something right!

Anonymous said...

me & all my friends... definitely love the "OLD" Road Rules, now we're older and we can watch w/e the hell we want...

Anonymous said...

THIS IS MY LIST!!!!!!!!!:

Dan
Jerry
David
Veronica
Kina
Anybody except Susie or tori(probaly Kristen)

Anonymous said...

I too hope David gets his Reward Stolen. I hope Shane or Jerry get it, preferebly Shane because he actually contributed money to the Handsome Reward, but if Monte or that new Mike guy get it, I'll be pissed because they haven't done anything.

Anonymous said...

I hope this is the last season!!!
... unless they can come up w/ something better.

Anonymous said...

to all those haters who want the show to end... get off this site and get a new hobby.

Seriously, if all you want to do is complain about how much you hate it, then you shouldn't watch it.

Anonymous said...

Oh shit!
Ok, here's what went down, David apparently leaked information about the pit results and mission outcomes to his friends back home. That's what everyone suspected, Tori also revealed some things to her family, therefore those two players were sent into the pit as well as a penalization (I guess Tori had to do the pit twice). Adam and Tori go against Veronica and Dan. (Adam & Tori pull off a win), the David goes against Dan, in which David wins and then Tori goes in again against Veronica, this time Veronica is able to pull off a win- Veronica takes Tori's place in the RV and that's the shocking result.

Complicated huh?

LMAO! Ok, who believes in this note? I found it in some discussion in a reality TV forum... it sounds real, and fake at the same time... eh, who knows.

Unless you're mildly retarded, saying "I hate the new road rules" really doesn't exert a lot of energy. Someone is feeling a little touchy.

Anonymous said...

wow i just turned the tv off, im so pissed off David got cheated out of all he worked for, yeah whatever maybe he wasn't the MVP of all the missions but he worked so hard in those pits, for nothing. I'm pissed

chris

Anonymous said...

Can someone explain how David got kicked off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I turned on the tv when Drew said Adam is safe.

Anonymous said...

Dan got SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!

Derek should of went in the Pit and Lamonte stold one.

Anonymous said...

why the hell would they make such a stupid puzzle as the final pit game?!

they shouldve done a game that actually had some intensity or physical ablilty involved

Anonymous said...

that finale was worse than the gauntlet 2 with the poker chips!

Anonymous said...

It's fucking lame that someone who hasn't been in one single mission or helped the Road Rulers in any way win money over three (Shane, Dan and David) people who have.

Anonymous said...

worst finale ever!!!!

lamonte didnt do anything to contribute to the group, while dan shane, and david did

they better change the format or just be more consistent with the rules if road rules continues

Anonymous said...

i enjoyed the finale i thought it was awesome but lemonte didnt deserve to win it over everyone else but karma ! u do right nd u earn shit in the end !
DAVID BLEW IT he told ppl what was happening his fault . sucks to be him
also i though this season was really good
i thnk they should do it again juss switch up the rules about voting it

Anonymous said...

Can't believe Lamonte won part of the $20,00 from the pit crew win and the car + $$$ from the grand prize!!! He is the luckiest and the most undeserving!!!!

Anonymous said...

Yeah! Go Monte!

I've pulled for him the whole show .. and after all the chances he FINALLY won!

And didn't have to do a damn thing to get it. Freebies baby it's the American way!

Anonymous said...

What a joke of an ending. Totally unfair to Dan at the end there. WTF was the point of the extra Pit? To really piss off the viewers? Lamonte? ARE YOU SERIOUS? He does nothing and wins it all (More than the actual Road Rulers!) What a joke.

Anonymous said...

Monte won. Get over it...

Monte (if you should stop by this blog room on your way from the bank...)....despite these obvious losers here with the negative comments.......you solved the puzzle...BEFORE DAN..and you won fair & square...

The fat lady has sung!

What color is your new car? and ummm...can I borrow $20 :-)

Anonymous said...

I need to get over the fact that Monte didn't deserve it?

I'm not the one taking it to heart.

Anonymous said...

I don't have a problem with you disagreeing. Where did I say that? You're the one that has a problem with disagreeing 'cause you jumped on that person and said "IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT'S SAID GET THE FUCK OUT" as if you were all defensive and tough. Nobody ever said anything about disagreeing I just said if you're telling people to get out for disagreeing with YOU then you can just not watch the show instead of bitching.

But if you wanna continue to make an ass out of yourself be my guest.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree I was so excited for RoadRules to air again but when I see this season was goin to be a twist I was like WTF! I was mad when I heard six alumnis and pit crew members I was like no need for no damn alumnis we need fresh faces. I understand why the rating was so low I love Road Rules and we need the classic ole style RV experince we all enjoy

Anonymous said...

i hated the new concept. i thought the voting off after losing 2 missions was good, road rules 13 just didnt have the right mix of people. rr13 had big shoes to fill because of season 12. i think that itd be cool if they got rid of the pit battles. went back to voting off. but instead put alumni on as replacements.
