Jacinda confirms to People Magazine that she is indeed pregnant with her first child

Jacinda (London), the alum who has probably had the most big screen success out of all the alum, is expecting her first child with actor husband Gabriel Macht. People Magazine posted this blurb on their website yesterday:

Australian actress Jacinda Barrett, and her husband, actor Gabriel Macht, are expecting a baby later this year, their reps confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.

This will be the first child for the couple, who have been married since 2004.

Americans first met former model Barrett, 34, when she starred on the fourth season of MTVs The Real World, set in London. She got her big break with the 2003 screen adaptation of novelist Philip Roth's The Human Stain, alongside Nicole Kidman, Anthony Hopkins and Prison Break's Wentworth Miller. She most recently starred alongside Zach Braff in The Last Kiss.

Macht, a New York native who grew up in Los Angeles, most recently appeared in The Good Shepherd and Because I Said So.

Congratulations to Jacinda!

Jacinda will star in the Namesake and School for Scoundrels in the upcoming year

An update on one of the castmembers from the earlier seasons: Jacinda (London), who now has a career as a working actress in Hollywood has an impressive film schedule ahead of her this year. For those of you who remember, she had supporting roles in Ladder 49, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and The Human Stain. Jacinda is now starring in two of this year's highly anticipated films. She's the female lead in Wolfgang Petersen's remake of The Poseidon Adventure, appropriately titled Poseidon. The big budget remake follows a group of ship passengers who try to escape a capsized ship. Poseidon is set to be released on May 12, 2006. She was also cast as a lead alongside "Scrubs" star Zach Braff and "The OC's" Rachel Bilson in The Last Kiss. The film is about Braff's character straying away from his relationship with Jacinda's character, in order to have one last fling with Bilson's character. This film is scheduled to be released in the Fall. She's also scheduled to release two other films in 2006: The Namesake and School for Scoundrels. The latter stars Billy Bob Thorton and Napolean Dynamite's Jon Heder.

Also, we haven't received much of a response for reviews of Overdrive. Although we'd love to update for those of you who don't get Overdrive, we still need people to review the episodes (A quick paragraph would suffice). Use the "contact the blog" form to submit your review.

Jacinda's role in Bridget Jones Diary will be on the big screen relatively soon

With scores of magazine articles done on Jacinda (London) and Ladder 49 ending its run on US screens relatively soon, Bridget Jones Diary: Edge of Reason will hit US in a limited release on November 12. This was bumped up by studio execs who felt that the film would benefit from an early limited release, creating buzz about the film. Jacinda plays Rebecca in the film, a co-worker of Bridget. It's rumored that Bridget (Renee Zellweger) and Rebecca will share an odd relationship at points, even sharing a semi-erotic kiss that has been described as "gentle, but hot".

Jacinda appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show today

Jacinda (London), who stars in the recent flick Ladder 49, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show today. Part of the show was dedicated to Jacinda and co-stars John Travolta and Joaquin Pheonix. Jacinda is arguably the most post-successful Real World alumni in the motion picture industry, as she has had several opportunities to star opposite Academy Award winners, such as Nicole Kidman, Anthony Hopkins, and Renee Zellweger.

Jacinda (London) is quite the Hollywood star this week. If you haven't already noticed, Ladder 49 has begun a major advertising campaign, with trailers and bilboards hitting major markets. Ladder 49, co-starring Joaquin Pheonix and John Travolta, hits theatres no less than October 1, 2004. Jacinda had a short part in the trailer, but you might miss her, because she has a complete American accent. Check the Trailer here.

Jacinda has a major role lined up for Bridget Jones Diary 2

Big news for Jacinda (London): We reported a while back that Jacinda scored a big role in the upcoming sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary starring Colin Firth, Renee Zellwegger, and Hugh Grant. However, Hollywood trade reports are reporting today that Jacinda's role as Bridget's co-worker will be more than just a platonic relationship. Yes, "Britney and Madonna-style", Bridget will develop a fling with Jacinda's character. And we're about a year and a half away from the premiere of the movie, this is already making headlines in movie news.

Rachel is the frontrunner for co-host position on the View; Jacinda set to star in Bridget Jones Diary 2

Are we back? Yes. Due to unforeseen circumstances entailing a lot of different things... (How convoluted is that?) We are back. After a few months on hiatus... We're back with news. There are a few things going on and we just like to update you on some of them. Here are a few:

  • Rachel (San Francisco) is looking to be the front runner for ABCs The View. Rachel is competing against reality TV cutie Elizabeth Hasselback of Survivor: The Australian Outback fame. And she is also competing against Erin Presley, of the now defunct show Port Charles...

So why is Rachel the front runner? Well, if you remember, a couple of years ago, Rachel was in the running to replace Debbie Matenopolous... She was outed from The View after the other four ladies started to hate her, citing the airhead, offbeat comments she made on air as reason for the boot. Rachel was actually the front runner back then too. And it was wildly disputed that she was going to get the spot. However, sources say that she turned down the spot because she was pregnant with her first child, Evita.

So, this time around... It's much of the same story. The women of The View love Rachel. Barbara Walters was on Bill O'Reilly's radio show talking about how Rachel rounds out the panel... She also made a comment about how Erin Presely was a little unpredictable (in a Kelly Ripa sort of way...) And well, they really didn't talk about Elizabeth... The winner will be announced in two weeks.

Until then, visit The View's website, email the ladies and tell them how much you love Rachel!

  • Jacinda (London) is well on her way to becoming a huge movie star. She recently starred in The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman. Next, she will appear in Ladder 49, playing the wife of Joaquin Pheonix's character. John Travolta also stars. Ladder 49 is scheduled to premiere in early 2004. She is also starring in the independent film White on White with stars like William Dafoe and Claire Forlani. And she recently gained a role in the upcoming sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary, where she will play Renee Zewellger's co-worker.

  • And that's it for now!l

Jacinda appears in Vanity Fair and more news on the Robin San Diego arrest

Jacinda (London) has recently appeared in an issue of Vanity Fair magazine. In it, she talks about her two new films, The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins and Ladder 49 with Joaquin Pheonix. She even alludes to her Real World days as well in the article.

And more news about the San Diego arrest from The San Diego Union Tribune. Some members of the cast were filming on Pacific Beach (where MTV crews set up their beachhouse a few years back) at a bar called Moon Doggies. Apparently, Robin got into an altercation with a marine who was also at the bar, and Robin scratched his arm and face. She posted bail on Wednesday, but no word yet on Robin's fate on the show.

Thanks to Eddie and LE for their information!
