Opinions of the first episode of the Inferno

Tonight's episode of The Inferno aired... If you don't want to know what happened (if you live on the West Coast) don't read... Also, this blurb is full of opinion, so if that's not your cup of tea, don't read it: (HIGHLIGHT TO READ)

So, the Inferno premiered a few minutes ago. This season definitely will have its ups and downs, but there are a few things to look forward to. I have to say, the greatest disappointment of the night was Ace (Paris) being booted. We knew it was coming, but Ace is too nice of a guy to play the Inferno. Then there was that whole thing with Mallory (Paris) being there and Coral (Back To New York) questioning his Inferno performance... You can't help but feel sorry for Ace. And we actually get to see Jeremy (South Pacific) actually be an integral part of the cast, instead of showing up in the last few episodes. I'd have to say... The best thing/most anticipated thing of the season? It's gonna have to be Julie (New Orleans). The fight between Julie and Melissa during Battle of the Sexes was a huge deal, mostly because it mostly took place on the internet. But the Julie/Veronica situation really captures Julie's competitive spirit... (as in she'll do anything to win... Remember the Extreme Challenge?) I'd love to see Julie in an Inferno... but I am waiting to see how Coral and Julie play out their situation... Also, the Mike/Trishelle/Coral/Kendal storyline also has potential. It looks to be a good season. Hopefully, it will be.

The Blog will be sending a letter of condolence to Mary-Ellis' family and friends. If you would like to be a part of our letter of condolence, simply submit your name to us. Use the field at the left (under the links/counter) and we will include you. Thank you, she will be deeply missed!

Mary-Ellis Bunim, co-creator of the Real World and Road Rules, dies of cancer

Co-creator of The Real World and Road Rules and half of Bunim-Murray Productions, Mary-Ellis Bunim has died today. In an incredible unexpected turn of events, the co-producer/creator of the Real World died of cancer in Burbank, California today. The following from CNN.com:

"LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Mary-Ellis Bunim, credited with creating numerous reality TV hits, including MTV's "The Real World," is dead.

Bunim, 57, died in Burbank, California, Thursday after a long battle with cancer, her publicist said.

She began her television career in soap operas. Then, in 1990, she and Jonathan Murray combined the documentary nature of news and the dramatic intrigue of soap operas to create The Real World.

She also co-created "Road Rules," "The Love Cruise," "Making the Band," "The Real World Road Rules Challenge," the reality feature film "The Real Cancun," the real-life daytime drama "Starting Over," and "The Simple Life," Fox network's major prime-time reality hit of the 2003 season, starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

"Mary-Ellis was a one-in-a-million partner and friend, and I will always treasure our incredible years of collaboration," Murray said. "Even as the family at Bunim-Murray Productions mourns her loss, we will honor her memory by remaining committed to her ideals of creativity, adventure, and excellence, both on the screen and in our lives."

Bunim is survived by her daughter, Juliana."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, co-producer Jonathan Murray, and any cast and crew who knew Mary-Ellis. A revolutionary mind in television, she will be greatly missed.

Read the MTV.com article.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. February 7 at the Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to:

The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund
1101 17th St. NW, Suite 1300
Washington DC 20036

The Blog will be sending a letter of condolence to BMP. If you wish to be included in that letter, just put your name in the field at the left menu (under the counter).

Thank you! Mary-Ellis will surely be missed.

The rape in the San Diego may put the Philadelphia season behind schedule

This is a call for all webmasters that have websites about the San Diego season, to submit your links, so we can post them on the left side of the page! If you have a site, like this one about Jamie from this season's cast, send 'em in! We're posting em!

Also, about the next season, which is supposedly supposed to be filming in Philadelphia in April... Reality TV World, posted a report, saying that the reason why casting is so behind this season, is that the show was thrown into jeopardy after the San Diego rape incident. Although the proceedings on the rape incident are still going, there's no real clear understanding of both MTV and BMPs accountability in the rape. So, apparently, according to Sasha Alpert, who's been casting for The Real World for a long time, they're looking for 18-24 year olds who aren't in school. Reason? The fifteenth season will start in April, which is already in the middle of the new school semester, making it hard for potential applicants to take a semester off to do The Real World. And apparently, the reason why the season will start late is supposedly because of the rape. Read.

Alton and Irulan want you to vote as part of the Declare Yourself campaign

There is a new campaign out there being hosted by alumni from the Real World. If you been sleeping under a rock for the past few months, this year is a presidential election. And actually, if you live in Iowa and are a democrat, you should have voted. Moreover, there is a lot of important legislation that is passed that the young people of America really disagree with. The only way to change that, is to register and vote. Anyway, back to the campaign, the campaign is called Declare Yourself and they are going around to college campuses around the country encouraging students to vote. A centerpiece of the campaign is the Declaration of Independence, which they will be encouraging students to actually read. There are workshops, speakers, etc.,

The first to host an event is Alton (Las Vegas) and Irulan (Las Vegas) and they are going to be in New Hampshire.

If you want to learn more, go to Declareyourself.org! Go Register and Vote!

Real World to make Philadelphia its home for its fifthteenth season

It seems to be common knowledge that the Real World will make its fifteenth home in Philadelphia. Residents of Philadelphia are anticipating the arrival of the Real Worlders, already seeing that producers are scouting out locations for their fifteenth season. Seven strangers will descend upon the city of Brotherly Love in April. They are currently casting.

Trishelle is appearing on the Surreal Life 2 as a live-in castmember

So, is the Blog dead? Well... no. The Blog will never die, just like reality TV. Anyway, there is plenty of information floating around about alumni and the freaks from San Diego and the Inferno. And too many people need their fix! So, here's what's up: I am "auditioning" people to write for the Blog. Ultimately, only one or two will be selected to write posts. (Editors Note: We are done accepting applications for the Blog. Only those that have been sent before this notice will be considered. Thank you for your interest.)

And FYI... you're missing out if you're not watching the Surreal Life and are a fan of Trishelle (Las Vegas). It's hilarious. Gauntlet wraps up at the end of this month, only to be replaced by Inferno. And San Diego will be bugging fans for months to come! (Also, the last I heard on Road Rules was that they were casting for a 13th season... Don't know if this is still the case. Hopefully!)

Mike "The Miz" will be making an appearance on the WWE

Apparently, Mike (Back to New York) will make an appearance on WWE. He's been in the wrestling biz for a little while now. But his tryout match is scheduled for Saturday at 10pm on Spike TV. It apparently already occurred (Mike lost).... I don't know if this is true or not, but thanks to the fan who sent it in!
