In an interesting change of events, MTV has added yet another Pit Crew member, presumably to replace Abram (South Pacific) and his being kicked off the show.
Derek is 23 years old and from Jacksonville, FL. He was a football star and apparently went to the Olympic trials, so he could potentially "run circles" around the Roadies.
MTV (of course) doesn't clarify whether or not this is a permanent Pit Crew member or if this is just the winner from the sweepstakes that Road Rules is doing with ask.com. (If you don't know, log on to ask.mtv.com and answer the questions to get a chance to be on the show. If this is the case, Derek will be replaced next week with another viewer. The last time this happened was when Lori (Back to New York) was selected as a finalist for the casting process and then actually made it onto the show.

whats up with these weird ass pit crew members. David is crazy and i do not want to see him on the RV and Derek looks like he would kill someone and then eat them. Honestly I'm happy with the 2 guys and the girls constantly going to the pit.
i want to see hot people on this show i'm tired off seeing these uglies!!!

I went to high school with Derek and let me say that...

#2. He was an olympic trials qualifier in the javelin, he didn't get to go to the trials because he blew his elbow out
#3. Even though he may sound cocky in his blog, all of us that know him know that he's just goofing around and trying to liven things up.
#1: i went to his myspace and he's not as bad as mtv.com made him look but i still don't think he's attractive.
#2: i think the olympic trials thing is really impressive but besides that he's probably the same old mtv guy
#3: well thats not what other people like me who don't know him think and that won't liven things up it'll just get annoying as hell.
