Where Are They Now? Road Rules South Pacific's Dave

Every so often there's news about previous castmembers who have had some success with the entertainment industry, either as an actor or entertainer.

Road Rules' South Pacific Dave
Dave (South Pacific) hasn't been seen on an MTV show since he and Cara (South Pacific) were both o on the Gauntlet. The two were dating on that show, and went on to win the final Challenge. Since the show, the two went their separate ways, with Cara eventually posing for Playboy and having a child. Dave has been making a name for himself as an actor. He has steadily found work since his appearance on Road Rules in 2003.

He has had roles in Nip/Tuck, Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, and The Ghost Whisperer. This Fall, Dave actually starred in his own NBC show called Grimm. The show follows his character, Nick Burkhardt, and his battles against the mythological characters of fairytales. The catch is that Nick is actually a police officer in Portland. Grimm airs on Fridays on NBC and has been renewed into its second season.

Cara and Susie may be going to South Africa says Cameran's MySpace

Well, although I don't like reporting on stories of this nature because they are ambigious at best, a posting on Cameran's (San Diego) MySpace may reveal that both Cara (South Pacific) and Susie (Australia) may be headed to the next Challenge.

Here's the text of the comment:

Cammie, It's Monica Ericson. I just thought you should know that Cara and I are about to go start some trouble. Won't be the same without your skinny buns.

Now, maybe we're just reading into this waay too much... Maybe both Cameran and Susie have a mutual friend named Monica Ericson, who have a third friend named Cara, which coincidentally may or may not be South Pacific's Cara. Maybe Monica, Cameran and Cara take regular trips together. Or it really means what we think it means and we'll be seeing Susie and Cara in South Africa.

Update: The post was directed toward both Cara and Susie going to a party in South Carolina, which incidentally is Cameran's hometown.

Cara goes on Overdrive to explain why her alliance was targeted

Overdrive Episode Summary
Cara (South Pacific) | Monday February 13, 2006

The Interview

Cara continues to deny the alliance. She says Brad (San Diego) had the initial idea and right after that conversation went down, she was talking to Jillian (Extreme) and Susie (Australia) about it. And that's when it all started. She also cleared up the rumor about her hooking up with Jamie (New Orleans). It was nothing more than flirting. She counts posing for Playboy as the most liberating time of her life.

Beat Blair Challenge

The Drama Wheel... Ahh, the juicy details come out. First, it lands on Susie. She admitted that the two of them spit on Ibis' (Extreme) pillow and Susie may have spit on Jillian's (Extreme) pillow as well. Next is Danny (Extreme). He apparently was "loony" and did pull-ups everywhere that he went. He also hated Jodi (Extreme) so much that he claimed he would hit her with a car. Kina (Extreme) was next on the drama wheel. "Crazy Bitch" were the first words out of her mouth. She claimed that Brad (San Diego) told her that Randy (San Diego) cheats on Kina.

Wheel of Truth

The wheel lands on "What If..?"

Blair: What if you could take back one thing you've done in your life?

When she was a child, she was playing with kittens. She put them in a box and to keep them from getting out, she stacked books on top and accidentally killed one of them. To be fair, she was really sad about it and it was a total accident. She loves kittens. She would take it back in a heartbeat.

The wheel lands on "Word 4 Word":

Danny: Crazy
Kina: Her head is big. Bobble Head
Robin (San Diego): Boobs "I think she wants to be in Playboy"
Susie: An Angel in disguise. Delicious sense of humor
Blair: Player "You have a reputation of gettin' with ladies!"

The Sh*t You Didn't See

Susie and Cara wrestling. Susie and Cara talking about who has nicer boobs. A replay of Aneesa (Chicago) going off on Cara. THEN later that day, Aneesa admitting she went a little crazy and she fucked up. They made nice and re-introduced themselves to each other.

Thanks to Heather (once again) for submitting her Overdrive episode summary. Until next week!

Cara and Susie are targeted in their alliance in the next few episodes of the Gauntlet

Monday marks yet another new episode of the Gauntlet II. Again,
the following are spoilers for the episode. If you want to figure out what happens in this and future episodes, highlight the following text:

Like we mentioned last week, the Veterans will finally break their four game losing streak with a win on a female Gauntlet day. After the horrendous debacle that was the "alliance", Cara (South Pacific) and Susie (Australia) feel as if they are being ganged up on. Not only were they accused of an alliance, but they are the only non-Extreme females (Kina, Jodi, Ibis and Jillian) on the Rookie team. As a result, the two have become best friends on the Challenge, but feel alienated from the rest of their team. When the Rookies lose this mission, Kina keeps the promise she made in a previous episode and makes the decision to send Cara into the Gauntlet. Don't expect Cara to bow out of the Gauntlet so easily. She fights every inch of the way, but eventually is sent packing by Kina.

With only two female Gauntlets left, we can guarantee that the female Rookies will see the Gauntlet again. The question is: Will Kina option to completely destroy the Cara/Susie alliance?

Lori is singing in the Los Angeles area; Article says Challenges suck; Cara opens her website

Those of you who were fans of Lori (Back to New York) and her singing career will be pleased to learn that Lori is getting back into singing. Her participation with her college acapella group, the Boston College Bostonians, was a storyline for one or two episodes during her season. Lori is beginning to sing with Jared Zeus and they have set up a MySpace page for all of you guys to join. You can check it out here. And those of you in the Los Angeles area are in for a special treat as Lori will be singing live in Hollywood next month. Her performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 4th at the Highland Grounds (located on Highland Ave. just north of Melrose). Good luck to Lori!

The Village Voice has also recently published an article on the Challenges themselves. Prompted by this new season, columnist Joy Press delves into what seems to be the now-tired format of the Challenges. While many fans may disagree, Press exposes the attitude that many fans of the first few seasons of The Real World and Road Rules see as the deterioration of a once-great series.

And Cara (South Pacific), currently the subject of suspicion on the Gauntlet II, joins the many former alumni who have opened up her own website. Check out her website, which is still under construction, at www.carazavaleta.com.

Cara and Susie are under ridcule in the latest Gauntlet

Tomorrow marks yet another episode of The Gauntlet, where yet another major storyline will finally unfold. If you want to read on to find out what happens on tomorrow night's episode (and future episodes), highlight the text:

As the preview showed for next week's episode, Cara (South Pacific) and Susie (Down Under) are under the subject of intense scrutiny after the Rookie team accuses them of aligning themselves with the male Veterans. The Rookies accuse Cara and Susie of throwing male Gauntlet days in exchange for the male Veterans throwing female Gauntlet days.

While the accusations throw the Rookies into a state of anxiety and suspicion, the Veterans still can't seem to get their act together, as they lose their second mission in a row. After a mistake that costs them the Challenge, Ace (Paris) is selected to go into the Gauntlet with team captain Derrick (Extreme), where Ace is sent home.

Meanwhile, while the male Rookies avoid the Gauntlet, it still doesn't alleviate suspicions of an alliance. The Rookies still harbor their qualms with both Susie and Cara which proves to destroy team unity, until one of them is sent to the Gauntlet in a future episode.

Alton and Irulan may no longer be a couple.
    Cara and Dave broke up.
Cara hooked up with David (Seattle) and Mark (RR1) while Mark was dating Robin.
    Ellen (Quest) is pregnant.

Cara is not the Playmate of the Year 2005

Although Cara (South Pacific) was Miss November 2004, she did not make the status of Playmate of the Year 2005. She is in the June issue of Playboy (p.12 photos 3&7). Be sure to check her out.

I got an email about the Battle of the Reality TV Stars that Bravo is intending to air pretty soon. Nothing real concrete, but various Real World and Road Rules alumni are being approached to appear on the show. The show is slated to be taking place at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and will air in August 2005. Other reality show personalities invited? Omarosa from the Apprentice and Richard Hatch from Survivor.

The next Real World confirmed to be in Austin; Philadelphia cast to be in Naughty and Nice; Cara in line to be Playmate of the Year

BMP announced yesterday that the 16th season of The Real World will be held in none other than Austin, Texas. The Real World: Austin, which has not yet begun filming, will take the series to the state of Texas for the first time in the show's fourteen-year old history. If you know your Real World trivia, the sixth season, which actually was filmed in Boston was originally slated to be in Austin. Coming back ten seasons later, Austin won out over other cities because of its college-age population, music scene and nightlife. Other contenders and sure to be future backdrops for future seasons were Washington DC, Atlanta, Denver, Sydney and Montana. The series was scouting for military personnel who were in Iraq early last year, so expect to see someone who is a member of our armed forces be on the show. I an interview with the Yahoo! News, Jon Murray hinted that the cast has already been picked, saying that this might be one of the best casts ever assembled. Austin will be the smallest city that has ever hosted a season of the Real World. Philadelphia will end its run on Feburary 22. The Real World: Austin will premiere in June 2005.

More information is coming out on Naughty and Nice by the minute. This next challenge will include Philadelphia castmembers and will begin filming mid-January. It is slated to begin airing on MTV in March 2005. This should be right around the time that both Philadelphia and Battle of the Sexes 2 should end their runs. And what about Road Rules? Well, Road Rules will most likely air in June, alongside the premiere of Real World: Austin. Road Rules is not usually known about because of how they are constantly hitting the road in exotic locales. It's hard to get a pinpoint on who or where the cast is when they are actually filming.

And help Cara (South Pacific) win the coveted role of Playmate of the Year. She earned a spot as Playboy's Miss November in the magazine. Click here to vote for Cara. The winner will be announced May 10th. Support our alumni!

Mallory is in the latest A&F catalog; Cara caused a reporter to lose his job

Mallory (Paris) is in the latest edition of the Abercrombie and Fitch catalog. She appears on the internet at this photo which was lifted out of the catalog. And to clarify from the last Mal post... she is dating David Blaine, the magician, not musician.

And it seems that Cara (South Pacific) caused a little bit of controversy in her hometown as a piece was done on her in the local Toledo broadcast. A local news legend has resigned as a result of a story he did on Cara. Take a look at the link here.

Landon was arrested for assault on a horse; Cara is Playboy's Miss November

Yet another arrest from our good ole castmembers who never seem to fail. This time, Landon (Philadelphia) made The Smoking Gun for assaulting a police horse. Congratulations to Landon for making Smoking Gun.

And I'm told that Cara (South Pacific) will be gracing Playboy magazine as Miss November, not October as we previously reported.

Hook-up Report: The various castmembers that are hooking up with one another

What a tangled love web the RW/RR crowd weaves! Here's the low down on who is hooking up, who hooked up, and who broke up. Well you all know that Dave (South Pacific) and Cara (South Pacific) are still together and apparently Trishelle (Las Vegas) and Adam (The Quest) are still going strong. Something you might not know is that Abram (South Pacific) and Coral (Back to New York) are an item. Robin (San Diego) and Blair (The Quest) have apparently hooked up but it seems it was just a one-time deal. As for the break ups, Lori (Back to New York) and Kyle (Chicago) are no longer together. Mallory (Paris) and Ace (Paris) are done. Last but not least, whatever happened with Cameran (San Diego) and Brad (San Diego) while taping the San Diego season is not happening now according to Cameran.

Cara and Dave may be dating; Trishelle starring in an off-Broadway play

Hope you had a great Holiday Weekend! First, I must acknowledge the following information at the insistance of so many visitors... Cara and Dave (South Pacific) are rumored to be DATING. Yes, Dave is at the MTV message boards, talking about (amongst other things) that he and Cara are together. Seem kinda weird? Definitely... Especially after the fact that we hear that Marybeth and Dave were supposed to be the two lovebirds of this season. We might see something on these two, we might not.

Trishelle (Las Vegas) will be starring in an off-Broadway play once she gets off the Challenge filming right now. It's a revolving cast that also stars Jenna Morasca, the million dollar winner of Survivor: The Amazon. Go to the article here. Trishelle was also nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Favorite Female in the Reality Category. Thanks to Sue for that.

Now some info about some fan-based internet games based on the Real World and Road Rules. RWRR Ultimate is now casting for their game. And JamesDDogg which we reported to you last time is no longer accepting applicants for his game.

Thanks! Have a pleasant day!
