Smoking kept CT and Diem from winning the Challenge

One of the most frustrating parts of the finale was fan favorite CT (Paris) and Diem's (Fresh Meat) disappointing finish.

Diem and CT reunited.
The couple began the last leg of the final mission well in front of their competitors. However, CT (Paris) found himself winded going up the last mountain to the finish line. Johnny (Key West) and Camilla (Spring Break) overtook CT to win the grand prize.

Diem reveals to OK! Magazine that smoking was the culprit in CT's performance. All I can do is look down and be like that is the best stop smoking campaign known to man. CT can pucker out on national TV because he can smoke a cigarette right before they said go and [they] blew the horn. He smoked a cigarette right when TJ said go."

Unfortunately, CT's smoking habit eventually prevented the duo from taking home the grand prize.

Road Rules Extreme's Derrick Hosts a Great Podcast

Back with some new Challenge news. Fresh on the last post's news that spoiled the Challenge Rivals final Jungle, there's a great Podcast that you guys should know about.

Derrick (Extreme) runs a fantastic podcast that invites former Real World and Road Rules alumni to talk about the latest news. With the Rivals Challenge airing now, Derrick usually has the most pertinent guests for that week's episode. With all the drama surrounding Cara Maria (Fresh Meat II) this week, Derrick invited her, Laurel (Fresh Meat II), and Abram (South Pacific) to talk about the last couple episodes.

There's some great stuff on this latest podcast. Abram abruptly leaves the chat early on, and CT (Paris) has something to do with it! Also, Cara Maria and Laurel give their opinions on the "mob", CT, and Jenn. Check out Derrick's Challenge Podcasts, as there is a great backlog of stuff. We'll keep you updated as he posts new podcasts week-by-week.

Diem filmed an episode of MTV's Made earlier this month to make herself into a dancer and battle cancer

Diem (Fresh Meat) will be making a special appearance on MTV pretty soon. She's been made into a dancer on MTV's popular show, MADE.

She is made to become a pairs dancer with British Open Champion Paul Barris in order to hold an event at Shag in Hollywood, CA, to benefit cancer research. You can check out the photos at WireImage.

Most notably, CT (Paris) showed up to the event, and there's even a picture of CT smacking a kiss on Diem's cheek. The last time we saw the two together, Diem assured the world that they decided to be very good friends since they left the Duel.

Duel Reunion: Things turn up differently in a somewhat re-edited reunion

It was interesting to see the Duel reunion in its final product and then to see it as it was filmed over at MTV.com. The surprise that they pointed to when Susie signed off the air last week, was in fact, Tina (South Pacific).

After Tina said that she wouldn't show up to the show, she did. In fact, this part of the reunion was left out of the online version, as the show switched to an offline feed saying that they were undergoing technical difficulties. Susie announced that Beth (Los Angeles) had to leave the stage because Beth refused to be in the same room with Tina. Tina was actually rather diplomatic about the incident, not really being as boisterous as she usually is. She did not apologize or offer remorse though. It was a bit awkward having Tina there, as all she came to talk about was how she hit Beth.

Some other major details that were important: Wes (Austin) and Johanna (Austin) did not get engaged. The two bought a house in Arizona, a bar in Los Angeles, and Wes is actually going back to school at ASU. They decided that they wanted to have Wes finish school before they commit to marriage, and they're still happily together. Jodi (Extreme) bought a condo in Virginia and donated some of the money to a charity close to her.

Svetlana (Key West) gave herself a pat on the back for coming so far after being such a huge underdog. Brad (San Diego) also gave himself a pat on the back, although he really would've loved to win the money for his company Rockstar Racing.

Then the fights: Svetlana and Beth got into it because Beth accused Svetlana of being hypocritical for calling out Kina (Extreme) when she cried when she lost the Duel, as Svetlana did the same thing with her. Svetlana jumped at the chance to ridicule Beth and you could tell the two are no longer friends.

Then talk turned to Beth and Nehemiah (Austin) and that relationship. CT (Paris) poked fun at Beth and then Beth tried to turn it around on him and Diem (Fresh Meat), which sent Diem into a spin. The two accused each other of being fake, with it ending pretty quickly.

Aside from that, there was minor talk of other things. Aneesa (Chicago) mentioned how she grew up and got along with Beth. She also talked about her dislike of Robin (San Diego) for a bit, especially for what she said in Buzios. Jodi talked about her shortlived fling with Evan (Fresh Meat), which Evan also spent a small amount of time on. CT talked about his loss and how disappointing it was.

Keep on watching for the next Challenge: The Inferno III in Cape Town, South Africa.

CT and Diem are at Sundance together and will throw their own party on Wednesday

CT (Paris) and Diem (Fresh Meat) are both at the Sundance Festival this week. Sundance is the premiere festival in Utah where independent filmmakers and actors go to reveal their films to the world.

The two were spotted at Sienna Miller's party at the Green House. If you're wondering why they're holding bottles of crap, it's because the party was sponsored by the people who make whatever they're holding. Jeremy Sisto and Teri Hatcher were among the stars who were also at the party. In those two pictures, CT is with Kelly Virgulto and Diem is with Jami Miller (Entourage, Bones).

The pair are actually promoting their own party which is being held on Wednesday (for Diem's foundation, maybe?), but not word on if any other castmembers will be in Park City this week to help out the lovebirds' efforts.

The Duel Reunion show aired online tonight; Will be shown next week on MTV

The Duel reunion was broadcast live on MTV.com for the first time ever. Although it was not advertised at all, probably to avoid a substantial increase of web traffic on their broadband channel, we were able to catch the last couple of minutes.

Susie Castillo, MTV VJ, hosted once again, and nine Duelers showed up. Wes (Austin), Jodi (Extreme), Brad (San Diego), Svetlana (Key West), CT (Paris), Aneesa (Chicago), Evan (Fresh Meat), Diem (Fresh Meat) and Beth S. (Los Angeles) all showed up to the reunion. These were the last eight competitors, add Beth. Originally, Tina (South Pacific) was scheduled to be on, but she canceled her appearance last minute.

Here's some of the last minute things we caught, nothing too spoilerish for next week:

Evan talked about how CT had played the puzzle game for a while since Diem brought it to Brazil, by chance.

Beth is asked how many more Challenges she's going to be on. She says that she doesn't know, but the caller encourages Beth to keep doing the Challenges.

CT is asked if he felt like he overreacted in his Duel. He says that he didn't, he felt like he was the best competitor there and was robbed by a technicality.

Susie asks who's the best kisser in the house. CT declares himself to be. But only Diem and Evan can vouch for his kissing abilities. CT was the messiest. Jodi was the cleanest. Kenny (Fresh Meat) is the cleanest guy in the house.

Brad hooked up with no one on the show, because he had a girlfriend on the show.

The reunion airs next Thursday at 10PM.

Duel Episode 12/13: Interesting night of the Duel tonight with two episodes after a week of no Duel

This week, MTV returns with two episodes of the Duel, while we had to spend one week without a Duel episode. Here are the two upcoming previews for each of the episodes. One should be a male duel, the other should be a female duel. However, it shows that Wes (Austin) and Evan (Fresh Meat) clearly fight about some sort of strategy in the first episode, while the second episode (highlight to read)shows CT (Paris) in the Duel with Brad (San Diego), which CT loses. This is also where the fight between Wes and CT takes place. There obviously should be a female duel somewhere this night, but the drama seems to surrender the guys. This trailer, which is not being shown on MTV, also shows CT making light of Wes' relationship with Johanna (Austin).

Spoiler Alert: The Inferno sends its first person home and is someone already being sent home for violence?

Here's the first spoiler from the South Africa challenge, which is being called the Inferno 3. A couple of things have already happened in the short amount of time the castmembers have been there. If you don't want to know what happens, stop reading, these are spoilers.

These spoilers are all courtesy of MM Agency.

First, Ty (Denver) will be the first one to go. He was sent home by none other than Alton (Las Vegas). Now, we reported earlier that Alton was actually scheduled to be at Northern Michigan University tonight in a speaking engagement. However, we can confirm that he's filming the Challenge in South Africa. The school made a mistake and thought Alton would be showing up, but he's not.

also, CT (Paris) has supposedly been sent home for hitting someone. if that's true, CT will be the fourth person sent home from a Challenge for hitting another castmember, following Ayanna (Semester At Sea), Steven (Las Vegas) and Tina (South Pacific).

Ace and Mallory broke up because of David Blaine; Cameran is now dating Ace; Updates on the Paris cast

On Trishelle (Las Vegas) and her talk show on the Fishbowl... Ace (Paris) revealed that he and Mallory (Paris) broke up when she began dating street musician David Blaine. And he confirmed that he and Cameran (San Diego) were also dating until when they broke up when Cameran met athlete Jeremy Bloom in Cancun. As Ace said on the radio show, "their lives are just like a Jerry Springer show." He also updates some of his castmembers: Leah is in Manhattan working on her parents restaurant. Christina is living in Las Vegas, still in an off-again, on-again romance with her fiance. Simon is going back and forth from LA and Dublin, even once living with Adam this past summer. And CT was recently in a rap video. Steven also mentions that Eric (New York), Mark (USA Tour 1) and Dan (Northern Trail) had an alliance on the show.

CT and David are somewhat related and knew each other before Real World

Think you know everything about the Inferno? Well, think again... Did you know that none other than David's (Seattle) uncle is none other than CT's (Paris) godfather? That's right... CT and David knew each other even before CT showed his face in Paris. It's not the first time castmembers knew each other before even being on the Real World. In fact, David and Nathan both knew each other from VMI and were cast together... But what you might have not known, was that Nathan and David both knew Rebecca... As for CT's performance in the Inferno... he says that he's proud of his performance and that he did some damage.

Rape occurred at the San Diego house; Paris castmembers at the Inferno Challenge; Rachel doesn't get the co-host spot on the View

THESE ARE SPOILERS:

This is worth mentioning: The very night the thirteenth season of the Real World wraps up in Paris, we see the San Diego brats screaming for their piece of the pie... After a lot of flux about internet rumors, it has been confirmed by the San Diego Police Department. There has been an incident at The Real World: San Diego house. There has been an alleged rape that is currently under investigation at the house. Since it happened (about 10 days ago), there have been rumors flying like crazy. Apparently, a friend of one of the male roommates named Justin is the main suspect in the case. A 22-year old woman is said to be the victim of the rape case. Bunim-Murray Productions has made a statement about the allegations, telling the media that they are fully cooperating with the police. The news made the CNN.com front page at 10:25EST tonight. Here is the link. This, comes after much publicity of the San Diego season. Since the cast moved in a couple of months ago, another female roommate, Robin was arrested for a bar brawl. There are also heavy reports being circulated that another female roommate, Frankie has left the cast. A replacement was apparently brought in; a male castmember, Charlie. All together, you will see Charlie (M), Brad (M), Jacques (M), Randy (M), Cameran (F), Robin (F), Jamie (F) and Frankie (F) appear on the next season of the Real World. The next season of the Real World will begin airing in January, alongside the next installment of the Challenge, which is being called the Inferno. For more information on the Real World: San Diego, check out Real World: SD.

Speaking of the Inferno, full lists of the participants of the Challenge are circulating but have yet to be confirmed officially. Expect to see Mallory, Ace, CT, and Leah from Paris join this upcoming Challenge. You'll see them next week in the Paris reunion...

And after all that hoopla, Rachel (San Francisco) failed to make the final cut for The View. She lost out to Survivor's Elisabeth Filarski Hasselback.

The new release date for Jacinda's (London) movie Ladder 49 was recently announced as October 8, 2004. It was moved back from November 2003.
