Elimination Pit #1: It's Shane and Veronica in the very first Elimination Pit

This post describes the events of the MTV.com face-off. If you don't want to know the details of what happened, stop reading. Check out the Road Rules website to see the video.

Both Shane (Campus Crawl) and Veronica (Semester at Sea) are in a studio with Drew to find out who gets sent to the Pit.

Veronica says that the rest of the team was spitting out bull until the actual vote took place. Both Shane and Veronica believed it was a random drawing until they voted.

They show who wins the most votes from the "Pit Crew". Monte (Viewers' Revenge) and Tori (Viewers' Revenge) get the most votes and get their own montages. Veronica is asked how she would react when she gets back to the RV. She said she would persue a different strategy and perhaps start throwing missions. Shane (Campus Crawl) agrees.

Drew then brings out Monte and Tori. Monte is ready for the friendly competition and Tori is a little excited/nervous.

Drew then reveals that Veronica (Semester at Sea) got the most votes to be in the Face-Off. Drew then hands Tori an envelope to tell them which event they'll be in.

They get "Whiplash". It's a forward tug-o-war, much like the Gauntlet 2 game, but they're actually connected by a common wire that's wrapped around a single pole. There's three heats. Tori sprints out in the first heat and they both get knocked back, but Tori recovers and grabs the flag. Veronica falters in the second heat and trips, allowing Tori to get the second flag easily.

Tori makes it to the RV and Veronica moves to the Pit Crew. You can actually vote for the Pit Crew right now. Next week, Veronica could potentially face Susie (Australia) or Kina (Extreme) in a Face-Off, so get to voting. The next episode of Road Rules airs this Tuesday at 9PM.

The Elimination Pit Episode airs tomorrow, Saturday, exclusively on MTV.com

We find out tomorrow whether or not Shane (Campus Crawl) or Veronica (Semester at Sea) went to the Pit and which Pit Crew member got the first attempt to get into the RV.

Every Saturday presumably, MTV.com will be airing the Elimination Round episode. This will be an exclusive online video that will show the actual elimination round and we'll get to see which castmember goes in and is maybe sent packing.

We'll be updating the news as soon as the episode appears online, so stay tuned.

Six Days of Road Rulers: Shane is back for another round of RV tripping

Shane Landrum
Road Rules Campus Crawl

Age: 25
Hometown: Chapel Hill, NC
Currently: Chicago, IL
Challenges: Battle of the Sexes, Inferno, Battle of the Sexes 2, and Fresh Meat
Challenge Record: 0-4
Elimination Round Record: 0-2

Growing up in a military family was tough for Shane. Prior to coming on the show, Shane came out to his mother and he remembered the experience because he was constantly throwing up out the car window. Although he may have been ridiculed as a child for being gay, Shane grew to be a lovable part of his cast and a popular castmember on the show. He made it to the end of the season without being voted off and walked away with a trip around the world.

On the Challenges, Shane made it quite far in both Battles that he participated in, he missed the finals by two or three spots each time. On the Inferno, he was sent home by powerhouse CT (Paris), while on the Fresh Meat Challenge, Shane and Linette (Fresh Meat) were sent home by another powerhouse Wes (Austin) and Casey (Fresh Meat).

Launch Special: The alumni meet the pit crew and Road Rules finally returns to the airwaves

The following is a recap of the Road Rules: Viewers' Revenge Launch Special that has not yet aired at its normal time at 9PM PST. If you don't want to read the review, please skip this post.

Susie Castillo brings us back to the TRL studios where they filmed the Launch Special "reunion style" with the cast around a couch. She introduced Kina (Extreme), Abram (South Pacific), Veronica (Semester at Sea), Shane (Campus Crawl), Adam (The Quest) and Susie (Down Under.

Then there's this huge montage of the six alumni showing them at their own seasons.

Susie asks them after seeing the footage, what do they think of the trip. Susie thinks that it's time to get Road Rules back.

Susie then addresses some past conflicts with the alumni. Susie and Kina butted heads on the Gauntlet 2. The two are ready to start fresh and they're excited to get to know each other in new circumstances.

Susie then brings up the sexual tension between Abram and Veronica in the Gauntlet where they hooked up in the shower with Rachel (Campus Crawl). Veronica says been there, done that.

Now, the rules: There are 6 alumni, 8 "pit crew" members. After the first mission, a guy and girl are nominated by the cast. The viewers then choose who of the two are going in the elimination round. They choose a person from one

David, 20 (Kansas City, Mo)
He's going to freak everyone out real bad, because he's crazy. He mentions something about not going to college.

Susie: He seems great.
Veronica: His farts would smell.
Adam: He looks fit.
Abram: ...or thick.
Adam: You got to think of space on the RV.

Ivory, 22 (Brooklyn, NY)
She will be the top girl. Everyone wants to be her partner. She will be the wild, unattainable person. If she'd hook up with anybody, she'd school Kina. She would give it to Kina real good.

Kina: She's intense.
Shane: He likes her.
Susie: If they were going into the elimination round, she would be distracted by Kina.

Then they introduce the host of Road Rules, Drew Bell, in Los Angeles at the Elimination Arena in Los Angeles, which they are still constructing.

(Time for some montages of past seasons:)

Best Hookups

Flash of Adam (The Quest) flirting with Ellen (The Quest)
The Extreme cast looks on as Patrick (Extreme) hooks up with Jillian (Extreme)
Kit (USA Tour 1) kisses Mark (USA Tour 1) in New Orleans
Darrell (Campus Crawl) dancing in the club with Rachel (Campus Crawl)
Dan (Northern Trail) and Tara (Northern Trail) caught kissing in the ocean

Best Fights
Belou (Europe) and Antoine (Europe) fight at breakfast
Abe (Latin America) and Gladys (Latin America) fight over Abe's hookup with Susie (Australia)
Donell (South Pacific) gets hit by Abram (South Pacific)
Jisela (The Quest) screams at Adam (The Quest)
The Extreme RV gets hit as Derrick (Extreme) is driving

Next, they keep introducing new castmembers.

Jerry, 22 (Fresno, CA)
He loves girls that he can't have. All he needs is a wakeboard, surfboard, and snowboard.

Abram: I look forward to competing with him.
Shane: He won't have trouble picking up women. He's hot. He's excited about Jerry.

Kristin, 24 (Saline, MI)
She's the worst person to fight with. She's little, but there's a lot of competition in her.

Veronica: She doesn't sound believable when she says she's a bitch. We all can take her.
Susie: She would like to go against her because she feels like they're both underestimated.

Angel, 22 (Springfield, PA)
Her hair stuff alone would take up the RV. Vote for her because she's competitive and share the money with America.

Susie: She's a little too high maintainence

Tori, 19 (Midlothian, VA)
She's Teen Miss Virgnia. She cheered competively. She's not living life for anyone else. She runs the show.

Shane: She's fu($ing hot.
Adam: Who wants to date a pageant queen?
Veronica: She seems nice, everyone seem nice. She doesn't care to have any of them on their team.
Abram: He's looking forward to kicking the living daylights out of everyone.

LaMonte, 20 (Decatur, GA)
He's in a dance company and it's a great workout. He has an extensive tie collection. Don't see him as cocky, he has confidence, just give him a chance.

Abram: He's athletic. He's in a dance troupe. He's agile.
Adam: He might go enroll himself in the dance class.

Dan, 23 (St. Louis, MO)
He's a professional wrestler and a US Marine. He's been in Iraq. His heroes are Edgar Allen Poe and Dane Cook.

Susie: Dan makes her nervous. He's so intense.
Shane: If he faces him, he just wants him to throw him around.

Out of the eight people, Veronica is not scared of any of them. Adam is scared of LaMonte and losing to him. Susie then asks them about saying these things to their face. And then introduces the "Pit Crew".

(Even more montages of past seasons)

LaMonte and Adam exchange words. Ivory meets Kina and doesn't give a &$*# about what Kina said and she'll look at her. Angel is pissed about the hair products. Kristin is little, but mighty. Then Abram gives a little word about mental over physical.

Tori tells Adam that she's not fake and Adam confesses to not knowing what he said. David wants Abram to unleash the Donell-fury. LaMonte wants Adam. Jerry also wants Adam. Dan wants to compete against Abe. Dan outright calls Veronica the devil.

Pool of replacements on Road Rules includes eight new potential members

One of our astute visitors found this while Googling Road Rules the other day. If you type "Road Rules" into the Google search engine like it is done here here, you'll notice that under MTV.com's official website, you'll see the description of the site.

Under the description of the site it says a blurb about the new castmembers of Road Rules. While including Abram (South Pacific), Adam (The Quest), Kina (Extreme), Shane (Campus Crawl), Susie (Down Under) and Veronica (Semester at Sea), it also says the names of eight complete unknowns. MTV still hasn't updated the Road Rules website to reflect this, but it seems the pool of replacements to replace kicked-off Road Rulers is compromised of only eight people. The eight people are:

Angel, Dan, David, Ivory, Jerry, Kristen, Monte, Tori

Can any of them be found on MySpace?

Veronica posted pictures of her and Shane at the launch special; She will be wearing College Dropout shirts on air

Veronica (Semester At Sea) posted a blog on her College Dropout MySpace with pictures from the Launch Special which airs on Tuesday, January 23.

The Launch Special will no doubt catch us up with the six returning alumni, Abram (South Pacific), Adam (The Quest), Kina (Extreme), Shane (Campus Crawl), Susie (Australia) and Veronica (Semester at Sea), but it looks like MTV also did some sort of preliminary filming at MTV studios in New York City.

Be sure to catch up with Veronica, who promises new t-shirts on this new season and the rest of her castmembers next Tuesday.

Road Rules 14 cast is announced; Press release details the rules and uses Viewers' Revenge

MTV finally had a press release on the upcoming 14th season of Road Rules. The cast is:

Abram (South Pacific)
Adam (The Quest)
Shane (Campus Crawl)
Kina (Extreme)
Susie (Australia)
Veronica (Semester at Sea)

What's interesting about the cast is the dynamic between them that automatically sets up alliances before the game even starts. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. The rules state that after each mission, the group nominates one male and one female. Then we at home get to chose who, of those two people, will have to go into an elimination face-off. My guess is the face-off will be against the "Pit Crew", which is the board of replacements that viewers will also be voting on at MTV.com. Check out the press release here.

What's most interesting though, is that the voted off castmembers are eligible to be thrown back in the RV. Once someone is voted off, they are in the "Pit Crew". This suggests that the "Pit Crew" is made up of former alumni as well, but that's also in question, as BMP was casting for Road Rules late last year.

The press release also states that this season will be called Road Rules 2007: Viewers' Revenge.

Christina opens up her very own website; Challenge in Brazil is currently set to film; Denver is filming; Shane dated Ryan prior to Fresh Meat

Christina (Australia) recently opened up her own website at The Unphilospher. She's now a Los Angeles comedienne who's doing shows in the area. She has an upcoming voice credit for TV The Movie, a film by the Jackass crew. She's also starring on the upcoming PBS show "Mental Engineering".

So, the Challenge in Brazil is currently underway. According to various MySpace accounts which have been under scrutiny since filming began, the following castmembers are said to be in Brazil: Beth S. (Los Angeles), Julie (New Orleans), Aneesa (Chicago), Brad (San Diego), John (Key West), Paula (Key West), Svetlana (Key West), Tyler (Key West), Derrick (Extreme) and Tina (South Pacific). We can absolutely confirm that the following three people have already gone home. (Highlight to read) Using the current Fresh Meat as an indication of who's the first to go, it looks like Key West castmembers are being targeted with John and Paula both being sent home. Also, Tina is said to have gone home.

The Real World Denver is currently underway. According to this insider who lives in Denver, he caught a glimpse of a castmember being filmed outside the house this past weekend. Apparently, the cast won't be that hard to spot, as the hot tub is visible from the sidewalk and the cast is being scheduled for regular club appearances.

Theo (Maximum Velocity Tour) failed to make the cut in Last Comic Standing. As previously reported, Theo advanced to the semi-finals last week, but he was eliminated in this week's cuts. Timmy (USA Tour II) had a cameo appearance in the audience in last night's episode.

A movie that Landon (Philadelphia) shows up in is currently having screenings in the state of Indiana this month. Check out the movie's website for dates.

Finally, in Fresh Meat news, there's a big hub-bub about Shane's (Campus Crawl) appearance on Overdrive. He apparently talks in great detail about Ryan (Fresh Meat), who dated Shane prior to even applying to be on the show. The two broke up with Ryan applied to be on the Fresh Meat Challenge, which Shane knew that he would eventually be a part of. He even disliked the "stalkerish" quality of Ryan so much, that he lobbied to have Ryan thrown off the Challenge. He also makes a comment about Jesse (Fresh Meat) and the ambigious nature of his sexuality. Just for you not keeping tabs, Ryan is Melinda's (Austin) teammate and Jesse is Johanna's (Austin) teammate.

Steven is sent home for slapping Shane; Shane hooks up with Nick

Here's some more information on Battle of the Sexes 2. Highlight to read:

Apparently, Steven (Las Vegas) makes it relatively far in the Challenge. He's very close to making it to the final three. However, an incident occurs in which I'm told Steven "accidentally" slaps Shane (Campus Crawl) and some sort of a huff is made about it. It's unclear what exactly happens or if Steven gets voted off or is sent home, but it has something to do with his hitting Shane.

Speaking of Shane, supposedly he and Nick (Xtreme) did have something going on during filming. However, it's supposed to be well-hidden and away from the cameras. So we might not even see any of it.

Steven, Shane, Theo, Brad, Ruthie, Robin, Ibis, Tonya, Coral are on the Challenge

Kristin at E-Online weighs in on the Challenge this week, confirming and denying some people who are in attendance:

She confirms that Steven (Las Vegas), Shane (Campus Crawl), Theo (Maximum Velocity Tour), Brad (San Diego), Ruthie (Hawaii), Robin (San Diego), Ibis (Xtreme), Tonya (Chicago), and Coral (Back to New York) are all there. But she also mysteriously says that Mike (Back to New York) declined to do this Challenge? Unfortunately, we can neither confirm or deny this.

Pictures of Abram, Dan, Mark, Eric, Randy, and Shane at the Challenge surface on the internet

Here you have Abram (South Pacific), Dan (Northern Trail), Mark (USA Tour 1), Eric (New York), Randy (San Diego), and Shane (Campus Crawl). Lisa from NM submits these exculsive pictures. We want to send a big shot-out to her!

Randy (San Diego)
Ace (Paris)
Adam (Paris)
Frank (Las Vegas)
Steven (Las Vegas)
Mike (Back to New York)

Patrick (Xtreme)
Abram (South Pacific)
Chris (South Pacific)
Shane (Campus Crawl)
Darrell (Campus Crawl)
Theo (Maximum Velocity Tour)
Dan (Northern Trail)
Mark (USA Tour 1)

This obviously completes the boys' team and the remaining two Road Rules girls are most likely, definitely from Xtreme... Lisa from NM (much Blog love to ya!) also confirms that she saw Theo (Maximum Velocity Tour), Ruthie (Hawaii) and Derrick (Xtreme). There is also a mission with punching bags hanging over a river. Castmembers have to hold on the punching bags and the person who holds on to them the longest wins. Once again, thanks to Lisa and remember you heard it first on the Blog!

Some additional added info: The pictures were taken at a local rodeo on Sunday. Randy, Eric, and Shane were said to be the nicest of the group. And, if the picture is enlarged enough, it's noticable that Eric (New York) had a ring on his fourth finger on his left hand...

If you're in the New Mexico area and happen to snap pictures, send them over to us at newrwroad@hotmail.com.

Sarah, not Shane, will be the contestant to be voted off Road Rules

We officially got the word from Wanda at eonline.com. This is a spoiler. Don't continue reading if you don't want to know...

Sigh... Those idiots at BMP do the predictable, by hinting hugely in the beginning that Sarah and not Shane is voted off of Road Rules... Sarah is voted off this season.

Another predictable season of Road Rules. (Don't get us wrong, Shane is awesome... But that was too predictable for the first episodes.) Also, Wanda confirmed that the full Battle list she received is from MTV, so don't fret... Those are the Challengers.

Have a good night! Submit your Road Rules synopsis to newrwroad@hotmail.com! Tell us how much you loved seeing James again!

Shane slaps Darrell in tonight's episode of Campus Crawl

Hello! This is our third post of the day!

Heheh. Tonight is the Road Rules episode. The cast is doing the mission where they have to stand up on the poles and have food thrown at them. Also, Shane slaps Darrell in the face. Good episode.

Anyway, email us at newrwroad@hotmail.com, tell us what you thought of the episode... and we'll post the best responses tomorrow! We're looking for good, dramatic (:)) responses, so be sure to put SOME thought into them.

Also, some casting information will be available tomorrow as well... So come and check it out tomorrow.

Wanda posts the extended list of the Battle of the Sexes; Shane's number is cracked

The beautiful Wanda at E-online has released an extended list of participants on the Challenge. Here they are:

Road Rules Guys:
Jake Bronstein (Islands)
Yes Duffy (Semester At Sea)
Antione de Bouverie (Europe)
James Orlando (Maximum Velocity Tour)
Laterrian Wallace (Maximum Velocity Tour)
Blair (The Quest)
Shane Landrum (The Campus Crawl)
Eric (The Campus Crawl)
Mark Long (USA -- Tour 1)

Road Rules Girls:
Emily Bailey (USA -- Tour 2)
Gladys Sanabria (Latin America)
Veronica Portillo (Semester At Sea)
Ellen Cho (The Quest)
Rachel (The Campus Crawl)
Ayanna Mackins (Semester At Sea)
Jisela Delgado (The Quest)
Christina Patsiksky (Australia)
Anne Wharton (Northern Trail)

Real World Guys
Eric Nies (New York)
David Edwards (Los Angeles)
Dan Renzi (Miami)
David Broom (New Orleans)
Theo Gannt (Chicago)
Colin Mortensen (Hawaii)
Jamie Murra (New Orleans)
Puck Rainey (San Francisco)

Real World Girls:
Beth Stolarczyk (Los Angeles)
Genesis Moss (Boston)
Amaya Brecher (Hawaii)
Ruthie Alcalade (Hawaii)
Melissa Howard (New Orleans)
Julie Stoffer (New Orleans)
Lori Trespicio (Back to New York)
Keri Evans (Chicago)
Tonya Cooley (Chicago)

I doubt the total accuracy of the list... but I believe most of it is good to go! (I thought Jisela said she didn't want nothing to do with BMP anymore...) WOW! Veronica, Ayanna, and Puck in the same place?. Hahah. She also commented on Tonya's attendance, saying that they all hate the show until a Jamaican vacation and $4,000 comes rolling along... ($4,000 for story rights????) Thank you to Wanda! Also, she handed out two clues about who will get the boot on Road Rules: (NOTE: This is a semi-spoiler!!)

Q: Wanda darling, could you please find it in you heart to tell us who gets
the boot on Road Rules or at least give us some helpful hints?
A: Sure. Here's a hint: *I* wouldn't boot em.

Q:Wanda, love ya! Give us another clue about who gets the boot on Road Rules! Please tell me its Sarah!
A: What about the SUSPENSE?! I'll just tell you that you won't be disappointed. They will make it SEEM like it is someone else than it really is, but don't be fooled!

What the hell does this mean? I don't know. Does the first one mean that she wouldn't pick this guy because she likes him. Or that "I" significance mean that it's someone who is all about themselves. I have NO idea. And secondly, she gives a big hint that it's not Sarah who gets voted off. (Because it seems that she is being voted off already.) However, they are also have been concentrating on Shane's lazy/goofing off attitude lately and how they think he's slacking... But they might start focusing on someone else too... Who will it be? (NOTE: We know that a lot of sites out there are saying it is Sarah, but hopefully it isn't... because Rachel commented on the first episode that Sarah WOULD be the one to go if it ever came down to that. Hopefully, the story editors wouldn't be that moronic!) Stay tuned and find out!

NOTE: We had learned that someone actually cracked Shane's phone number, but it has recently been disconnected. (Read the previous post to get more!)

Battle of the Sexes pay-off bigger; Puck brags about being casted; Shane posts his phone number

Hello! Here's the new news for Monday!

Today, we got an interesting rumor on Battle of the Sexes. Long, long ago, sites were reporting that Bunim-Murray was going to do a "new kind" of challenge, bringing so many more contestants into the mix and upping the ante, by increasing the prize money by $290,000 more than what was offered on the first Challenge. Well, when news of that broke... Puck of the San Francisco season was said to be on the first Battle, making HUGE waves, and being amongst the first to be kicked off. Well, those rumors turned out to be FALSE.

However, we got news from a source in Sacramento who says Puck was on the Kidd Chris Show (93.7 KXOA) bragging that he was getting paid a whole lot of money to be on the next challenge, which would be filmed in Jamaica. Sound kinda weird? Getting payed to be on a challenge right? Well, no... Not really. Back at the Real World Reunion 2000 the Real Worlders protested against BMP to get pay increases for their services (they get jack crap after the initial payment for their story rights.). BMP gave into their demands back then and story rights to the challenges cost big money with disgruntled cast members from the past. (Don't worry... I'm sure MTV can afford it.) So, look for Puck to hit Battle of the Sexes coming soon! Here's the link to the Kidd Chris Show... which UNFORTUNATELY says nothing about Puck.

Also, Shane from Campus Crawl went literally psycho before he left for the Challenge... He posted something CRAZY on the MTV.com message boards. He posted the numbers: 11544799. These are the numbers in his phone number, but he's also omitted one number. He also says that his area code is 919 and the last number (the one he omitted) is either 3,4,5,6,7, or 8. Funny guy. He challenges the true fan to make that phone call to him... Although he's in Jamaica right now... so he wouldn't recieve your phone call. Contact us if you break the code...
