Parisa (Sydney) is profiled over at this online news magazine. They don't reveal much about Parisa, but they contend that she's not the first Muslim to appear on the Real World. Mohammed (San Francisco) was actually the first. The article also reveals that she herself did not pursue the Real World audition, casting producers had asked her to audition.

I don't understand WHY they asked her to audition...I think Parisa sucks personally.
I think she's a good addition to the show. She's not your average RWer. I would find the show so much more incredibly interesting if there were seven strangers more like her: intelligent, well-spoken, and not so into drinking/partying.
Thats how the original seasons were..In my opinion all the stupid stuff started w/ the boston season

I praise MTV for trying to expand by having a proud Muslim woman on the show. But Parisa is such a terrible person that she is not representing them in the right light. Shes immature, insensitive and insecure. She should grow up and go through some things and then come back to be on the show.
