Viacom, MTV's parent company, asks YouTube to pull down all its content

Viacom, the parent company of MTV, who is basically responsible for The Real World, Road Rules and the Challenges, has asked popular video site YouTube to pull down all its content from its networks. This includes content from MTV, which unfortunately includes these shows.

Although YouTube may no longer carry these videos, other video sites such as iFilm have not been asked to comply. However, the majority of video content currently exists on YouTube. Check out the article written in CNN Money.

This would be ok of MTV sold the videos of the challenges, like a complete series dvd or something. Then that would make since that they don't want their footage given for free, but the don't even sell the series dvd's for real world, road rules, or the challeges. I wish they would though.

Ifilms is a pay site, the videos on YouTube from TV shows have for the most part have always been copyright violations.

What a shame, all of my Road Rules Classic Clips have been deleted!

That's too bad. Maybe I can find another way to get them up.

They will start cracking down on any site where they aren't receiving a profit. I have used ifilm before and I didn't pay anything to views clips so they could start cracking down their as well.

I know it's the right thing to do, but I'm really going to miss watching all the Daria episodes.
