Sydney Episode #8: Post your reactions here

Tonight, the roommates are out and about at Sydney's Gay Pride Parade. While the rest of the roommates are comfortable with the festivities, it seems to be the breaking point for Trisha (Sydney). Finally fed up with the lifestyle that comes with living in the Real World house, Trisha may go off the deep end in tonight's episode, perhaps starting a downward spiral that results in her eventual blowup with Parisa (Sydney).

Post your reactions to tonight's episode here.

Trisha is right. Who would support gays anyway? God made people to be straight.

You do know that you sound like an ignorant ass don't you?

Anonymous said...

Ask anyone in the GLBT community, and they will tell you that they were born that way.

lol yeah let's go to a biased forum full of biblethumpers and ask them what they think. go read your scriptures asswipe.

Everyone has their beliefs, but she doesn't have to be such an ignorant ass when it comes to expressing her feelings on the issue. Stay home, get over it, and shut your trap!

Anyway, I will post my reactions to the episode. I just love Isaac...he keeps me laughing. His outfit was funny and he just embraced the gay culture. Dunbar loosened up a little in this episode...it's about time!! I think since Dunbar is from a small town he isn't used to gay people. I think that played a bigger reason in why he didn't go over the religion. I get Parisa. I lived in New York for 14 years. You just miss the diversity.I love how Cohutta doesn't stir up drama in the house. If he gets into it with someone, he shuts it down as quick as he can. According to my TV Guide, they finally get their jobs next week. I wonder if Trisha has been going to church while in Sydney....the way she broke into tears and was talking about how the devil in getting bigger and angel smaller it seems like she wasn't.Thankfully there wasn't a gay person in the house...that would have been super drama

so how about i really don't like anyone too much on this season... parisa is starting to sound like the most reasonable/interesting person surprisingly... she was the WORST one on the first few episodes

cohutta is so funny!

sorry about that...i meant Cohutta is from a small town

Notice that Kelly Ann didn't leave Cohutta alone with Trish!

Kelly Ann's in LUV. Dammit Cohutta, you lucky bastaad.

Gotta dump on the roomies who pranced around in the gay pride parade. They ain't gay. They shouldn't have been IN the parade. Hanging out is OK, but show a little respect for people who have been ridiculed all their lives for being who they are and are reminding Sydney how many gays live among them and taking pride not in being gay but in being brave enough to declare to the world that they are so in the face of so much derision.

Anonymous said...

People like Trisha and 2:22 need to evolve—oh wait, you don't believe in that either! I can't even imagine defining my life by a fucking book.

Anonymous said...

religion is bullshit everyone knows it deep down.. show me some damn proof..

Anonymous said...

I'm a Christian, a "Biblethumper"
That said, I was never raised to hate anyone
Nor have I ever believed that someone one day chooses to be prejudiced against and hated just because of because of their sexuality
I didn't choose to be straight, I am thankful that I am, but I never chose it
I repect other people's beliefs, but I think it's pretty sad when people hate on things just because they're different or because someone says they're wrong
God made everyone in his image, there were no mistakes, and I don't think gay people are wrong or going to hell
Not every Christian out there is closed minded or believes that being gay is wrong.

hang the gays

Anonymous said...

For 8:23 pm...

Part of the GLBT community is not about "being" gay, but supporting it. You dont have to be gay to support it!

As for Trisha...honestly. Don't mock something you don't know. She chose to stay home, then stay home. But to be as vocal as she was in the dramatic fashion that she portrayed to me, seemed phony. If she went, saw the community celebrating the diversity and THEN she voiced her opinion, that would have been different. But to judge a book by it's cover without seeing it firsthand to me, does hold much.

Its great to believe in what you want to believe in but don't be so dramatic if you don't at least experience it and form your own opinion.

If I was in that house with Trisha, I would've been kicked out long before her because I wouldn't put up with her shit. Beyond her ignorant comments about homosexuality, she is a hypocrite. I've never cared much about people on this show but I think her presence there is DANGEROUS because she is on international TV spreading hate and ignorance and she makes Americans look stupid as a representative of the US in a foreign nation.

Anonymous said...

Ok about the whole evolving thing. If everything is supposed to evolve then why do we die and why does everything reach a peek and then start going down. I mean with people you would think that we would evolve into super people or something but we don't so that's why i never believed the whole evolving theory because if it was true then nothing would get worse it would only get better.

I'm a christian and I do believe that men were meant to be with women but I'm definitely not against gay people, infact I have a few gay friends.I just don't like how people say ALL christians are gay bashers because it's not true. I don't disagree with what Trisha was saying I just think she expressed it in a very ignorant way.

I don't think any of you 13 year old prepubescent children who watch The Real World know anything about religion. Go back to playing with your barbies.

Anonymous said...

for 8:23

Coming from a gay person, I don't want or need there to be any more separation between gay and non-gay. The festivities do celebrate the gay community, but everyone should feel included to participate. That is the point - not to discriminate. To say that hetero's should not be allowed to join in the parade is a bit hypocritical. There are always groups involved, for example PFLAG (parents of...) - how is that any different?

Just my $.02

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Shavoun's orientation is listed as "bi" on her MySpace. Trisha also addressed the issue on her myspace. A comment shows up next to her picture on her main page.

oh shit, now a gay parade? idk maybe some of you read my opinions about the last episode when i asked whats an arab doing on the show? the rw is a joke now, gay parades and arabs? oh well, one of these days all the fags in the world will contract an std or something maybe then they will learn their lesson.

Anonymous said...

this had to be one of the best rw episodes in a while. the fact that it seemed to return to rw's original format was good. it dealt w/ people's moral issues they run into in life, as well as things from their past that they need to deal with. finally an episode w/o a drunken hook up or fight.

I'm kinda getting a gay/bi feeling from Cohutta, I don't know why, it just seems he might be and he's trying to play himself off as straight, or he's bisexual. Nothing wrong with that, but does anybody else get this vibe from him?

Anonymous said...

is anyone here not going to hell by any chance?

Anonymous said...

To say that God has something against gays is just ignorant. That would make God extremely intolerant and I highly doubt that THAT is the case.

Although, just to say, as a Christian myself...I'm finding it hard to reconcile religious beliefs with reason/logic. Maybe Trisha's going through the same thing. She's just putting more emphasis on what preachers are teaching her instead of deciding for herself what's right and what's wrong.

jesus god christ said...

Fuck you. Read a science book bitch.

THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS WATCH THE MOVIE Zeitgeist! http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ its has a lot fo say about religion. Also Trisha is soo ignorant and a big time hypocrite hopefully she gets kicked off in the episode after the one coming up!

Anonymous said...

no one is going to hell because were already living in it! i forgot where i read it but it was in some religion teaching. and it does make sense

thejives said...

All religion seems to do for Trisha is make her feel bad about herself. She gets all weepy and pissed off about things that normal people just do and have fun with. I think she needs to think about why her religion is making her such a miserable person.

Anonymous said...

I may not agree with Trisha's views of the gay community or alcohol, but she is entitled to her opinion. However, I felt that she could've handled herself better when expressing her views. Cohutta had the same views as her but he handled himself fine. It was like,
"I'll just stay home" and that was it. With Trisha, she had to preach, cry, and complain. At dinner, you could tell that she had some attitude with the way she was with Cohutta. Yeah, what he did was not the nicest thing but he said sorry but Trisha just went on complaining again.

The plus side of this episode - Isaac & Dunbar. I liked how Isaac is just about having fun and Dunbar for once loosened up and had fun.

I totally agree with Trisha about not wanting to support Gays in a parade. No one has to accept them and their lifestyle! It is today's society that pressures us into thinking that it is normal when actually it is a sin. Some may say well you sin too. If I do, I repent of it and ask God's foriveness. The Gay's do NOT. That is the difference. They do not repent even though they know it is wrong. To the person who said we should show respect to them because they have been ridiculed all their lives is totally wrong. I should show respect to someone or something I believe is wrong? I respect Trisha for standing up for her beliefs when everyone else has succumbed to just joining the crowd. Her personality may be overbearing and irratating but atleast she knows right from wrong. You gotta believe in something or you'll fall for anything.

I loved this episode. Its a change from the usual drunken nights at the sydney house. I thing the rw is reedeeming its self after the denver season. Trisha is so stupid. She needs to come into 2007 where being gay is fa-bu-lous [snap my fingers]. Dunbar was really getting on my bad side but this episode showed a diffrent side of him. His grandpa molested him and that can damage you mentally. Parissa is a beautiful person. she unlike trisha, ignored what her religion belived and went to the parade. I praise her for that. Cohutta still hasn't gotten some puddy. Hang in there hutta, you'll get it. I can't belive he didn't go to the parade, I mean I thought he would be the one was excited to go but he wasn't, issac was. It was so funny how he was acting and his oufit for the parade should go down in rw history. Kelly ann is in love with the hutta. She didn't leave him alone with trisha...I see mountain babies round the corner.and last but not least...shavoun, girl we all know your bisexual but we want to see you demonstrate it in future episodes...get some puddy girl! Overall I give this episode 5 stars, for being something diffrent and facing real issues, racism against gays and lesbians

I liked the way Cuhutta dealt with the situation. He just said it wasn't his scene and moved on. Tricia was so obsessed with it . . . please, bitch, no one cares.

Anonymous said...

I LOVE ISSAC. Easily the hilarious person in the house...

Tricia (and her parents!) is the type of girl who gives Chrisitans (not to mention Americans) a bad name... How many gay people has she ever met? There's really no question why most pro-gay rights people come from areas where people are out. I think she should take advantage of the fact that she's in Syndney and educate herself.

Cuhutta didn't agree with it, but he didn't whine and tell everyone his views (he wouldn't have ever mentioned it if Tricia hadn't been preaching to him). He just said it wasn't his scene and left it at that. Quick and not offensive.

Trica can believe whatever she wants to believe, but she shouldn't be telling everyone about it when they plainly do not want to hear it.

I like Parisa's approach to religion. She's said she's proud to be Muslum, but obviously, there are issues in the religion she doesn't agree with. She just accepts that she can disagree with one particular issue and still have the faith... and its great. This all or nothing faith Tricia preaches is so much less appealing.

I liked this episode... wish I could have gone to that parade.

Think about it. I don't mean to get this graphic but it proves a point. A man sticking his penis in another man's rectum is not NORMAL!!!!!!!!! It's sickening. And the person who told me to die bitch is probably so angry because they have a dick up there ass right now and hey "that's gotta hurt" so I forgive you for your rudeness.

Trisha is ignorant...How can one claim to be such a huge christian, and then drink and curse all the time? That's not christ-like at all, and she isn't portraying what a christian should be. She's a hypocrite. As far as the rest of them go, KellyAnne needs to get herself together right quick, and either decide to just go for it with co-huntry, or not. Issac is hilarious, and Dunbar didn't need to share all of his business and his grandpa-touched-me issues.. Fuck Trisha.

Anonymous said...

We ALL are made in God's image. God was not gay, so why should men and women feel the right to hook up with the same sex? It just does not make any sense.

Anonymous said...

6:46 and 4:43 probably are getting buttfucked by their daddies as they read their scriptures right now. Always you homophobes who are closet peterpuffers.

Anonymous said...

"God was not gay, so why should men and women feel the right to hook up with the same sex? "

Okay, forgive me if I am missing something huge but... as far as I am aware, god wasn't straight either. God was more asexual. I can't remember any biblical stories about him hooking up with something...

So how come we aren't all asexual?

Anonymous said...

This season is strange...too much singing.

For anyone who thinks that just being religious makes a person automatically against homosexuality, you're sadly mistaken. I'm a religious person and I have no problem with it. I think we all have to face that fact that people are always going to disagree about this, so there's no sense viciously fighting about it.

Anonymous said...

It's funny how all you brainwashed children talking about how you respect Trisha for her voicing her opinion - so you respect intolerance, you respect the spread of hate and violence? Of course you do - you're christian.

It's pretty sick of christians to claim they are going to spend enternity in some paradise while knowing loved ones and aquantainces are being tortured forever. ..How could you enjoy this paradise (not that exists) - you must be a very sick and selfish person..

Anonymous said...

You are not an "ignorant ass" to not support gays! You love the people and hate the sin. We are all not perfect but we love each other reguardles. That does not mean we have to jump on the bandwagon because society feels we are ignorant not too.

I have been watching Real World since it began way when...and Isaac has got to be one of the funniest people i have ever seen on the show...he has me laughing week after week...he's so chill...so No-drama. He just is and embraces who he is and comes across as someone you just wish you could hang out with. I hope they find a way to keep him on TV...maybe his own show????

Anonymous said...

Isaac is ugly, stupid, mysogynist and not funny in the slightest.

ClovisGuy87 said...

This goes for the person that said 'God made people straight.' If God himself had made people straight, then why would there be gay people in the world? We didn't choose to be like this. I'm a gay male and I've known I was gay from the start and I get really irritated when people say were going to burn in hell. I've always heard that children are in the eyes of God.. If that’s true and let’s say I died at the age of 8. Would I have gone to hell? I knew I was different then. Would God still have sent me to hell even though I was just a child and I didn't choose to be that way? That would be pretty fucked up if he did. And I think Trisha is pretty stupid anyways. I went to high school with her and she was known as one of the party girls that was supposedly a virgin.. If she as religious as she says she is, then she would have not broke her promise to God. Her parents gave her promise ring to stay a virgin until she got married and to treat her body like a temple. Well we know that’s not the case. She's a party girl that drinks a lot and lost her virginity to her recent boyfriend at the time. To me that doesn't sound like treating your body like a temple. So I think Trisha is just a big hypocrite and doesn't know what the hell she's talking about!!

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter if Trisha fell short of not remaining a virgin and drinks a lot. The point is everyone sins and no one will come even close to being like God. What is important is to strive to be like him. We all sin. The only difference is Trisha recognized her sins and felt bad and asked forgiveness. She will be forigiven by God. The most perfect person will not reach heaven. You must accept Jesus as your savior. He is the only way to God. And I bet the only reason those roomates went to that Gay Mardi Gras was it was a party like atmosphere. Would they have gone if it was held in a library or classroom setting?

Anonymous said...

I'm a Christian but I don't hate gays but I also don't hate theifs either. Both are sin. What do you say to the thief who never admists stealing is wrong?

Anonymous said...

"To the person who said we should show respect to them because they have been ridiculed all their lives is totally wrong. I should show respect to someone or something I believe is wrong?"

Honestly, as a Christian, I'm appalled. If you agree with the statement, "hate the sin, but love the sinner."...(tho, I, personally don't agree that gay = sin)=)...how can you say you won't respect somebody because they're gay and you disagree with them. That sounds so petty, juvenile, ignorant, and simply "unChristianlike". Very shameful.

Trisha has her opinion, however, they is no reason to talk bad about a people. She could have said simply, "I don't agree for religious reasons, and left it at that...not become overemotional and spew ignorance.

It's Just Me said...

I think Trisha was one of the sisters of the Prussian Blue group. The two Nazi sister pop band.

Anonymous said...

"You love the people and hate the sin."

But HOW is being gay a SIN? You guys have no argument. You constantly use this one line to defend yourselves but there's a huge hole in it.

Anonymous said...

God isn't real.

Anonymous said...

"I also don't hate theifs either. Both are sin. What do you say to the thief who never admists stealing is wrong?"

First of all, stating that homosexuality is a sin is a matter of opinion. An opinion I disagree with.

Second, I'll answer your question. Theives harm people. They steal, they take away people's possessions. Yes, that is wrong. What, I ask you, do gay people do to HARM other people?

I think Isaac is funny. He has his own unique sense of humor. He has had some great one liners in other episodes. As far as the singing, I think it is cool they had a studio in the house. Allows housemates to go and there and discover a new talent or develop one they already had. Isaac said on his website he is releasing a CD and it features some stuff that he & Cohutta recorded together while in the house. I just love how all you people are arguing with each other about gays and what not instead of just simply posting your reactions to the episode.

Isaac posted a new blog on his website and he talks bout his VMA experience. After reading it, I am inclined to believe that he is currently dating Noirin, the girl we have already seen him with on the show

i love the ignorant fool who is asking what an "arab" is doing on the show.....parisa is NOT arab.shes IRANIAN which, for your ignorant ass fools, is NOT arab

Religion is a contradiction to itself. End of story.

When did this turn into an argument about religion versus atheism? That's not what this is about. Clearly, the people who aren't religious are jumping at this opportunity to attack Christianity and religion in general. It's just childish.

1:19 people from iran are referred to as persians, not as IRANIANS

6:49, I wonder why you didn't mention the fact that Christians are also taking the opportunity to bash gays/arabs here? Isn't that childish too? Or are you too biased to see that?

Your all a bunch of smelly buttholes. Especially trisha.

Huh? I believe I'm on the pro-gay side here. I didn't see those posts; if I had, I would have said something. Fine: people are taking this opportunity to bash gays and arabs. Is that good enough for you?

A question for gay men: Do you ever get poop on your weiner or do you use an enema before the deed?

Do Christians pull out while having intercourse with the bible? Or do they climax inside it?

Doesnt anyone else think its funny how she cant support gay people because its wrong yet she completely demeans a mcdonalds worker for not speaking English? Apparently she needs a life lesson in tolerance. Dunbar, Shavoun, trisha and Isaac are bad ass in this episode. I think kelly ann stayed home to be supportive of trisha but more than anything to chill with cohutta. ;) The fact that trisha stayed home and still managed to get into a fight with one of the few who stayed with her shows she is just a bitter person. I loved isaacs outfit and Im glad dunbar loosed up!!! :)

Isaac seemed to enjoy getting dressed up for the gay parade a *little* too much, but he was really funny. Trisha clearly didn't want to go to the parade because of a holier-than-thou attitude, whereas Cohutta just didn't think he would have a good time but didn't mean any disrespect toward anyone. Parisa, Dunbar, Shavoun and Isaac clearly had a blast at the parade even though they were all straight,
